  An odd showing from this bottle. Smells very chemical, like the vapors from a cleaning solution. Tastes OK if a little stiff - would have shown better ice cold.

  Brassy color with a nose of sweaty funk, then densely packed on the palate with typical Chenin apple flavors but a mouthfeel very much like a Burgundy grand cru. Chalky minerality etches a texture on the wine that works with the sharply delineated acidity to prevent the gelatinously rich fruit from coming across too fat, and the final impression is far fresher than the aromas would indicate.

  Le vin est dense, arrondi par un boisé important qui contribue à une aromatique étonnante pour un vin de chenin: une touche de cognac, une légère touche d'oxydation, du floral et de la pêche. Chaque verre est meilleur que le précédent, ce qui signe le grand vin. Le vin est tout à fait sec, avec une minéralité sous-jacente. Une garde supplémentaire aurait été intéressante.
  NB: il faut le goûter pour le croire, mais voici donc la dernière rescapée du 16-11-04: malgré un bouchon légèrement "sorti" du goulot, malgré un an en position verticale et à température "non contrôlée", malgré un niveau très bas, la dégustation est un vrai plaisir !
