Deep ruby. Strong berry and plum fruit on the nose. Atypically ripe and ample. Excellent fruit, earth, and spice. Round tannins. Wow, this is completely different than when I tasted it early on at the domain. Now it clearly shows its ripe vintage roots and relatively little Savigny character.
On day 2, less obviously ripe, more citrus, black cherry, soil, and tannin. Aha, this is not really New World Pinot. I like the path it’s taken.

Savigny rouge does not get much better than this and this 2009 Narbantons is in a very good place right now. Beautifully expressive nose of ripe black cherry, leather, and forest floor that carry through the flavors and finish. Firm, yet exhibits a rather charming and lingering finish. Quite complex and memorable, and it avoids any of the coarseness I sometimes find in Pavelot's wines. It will probably continue to develop slightly and hold for at least another 3-4 years. Good stuff!
Ausgeglichen, fast schon leichte Spätburgunder. Unbedingt dekantieren und nicht zu warm trinken. Der Rest am nächsten Tag schmeckt immer noch besser als die Flasche am Abend vorher.

Excellent complexity. Flowers, cherry, and herbs with a medium to long finish. Great balance of tannin and acid. At the start of its drinking window. Drank the best on day 3.

Ripe dark fruit, earthy and chalky, with good balance and length. Early in the maturity window. Excellent bottle.
