  • Fresh, dark red color. Clean Pinot Noir aromas. Refreshing acidity, while the tannins are more difficult to find. The wine seems young and fresh and will last for many years, still.

  • I have had this wine many times from a case and there has been a considerable amount of bottle variation with some wines elegant and vivacious while others have seemed a little tired. 2007 has never been a year that was going to last for decades and this wine shows that. The best bottles show the goulayant quality of Narbantons. Confit dark red cherry on the nose, some rock candy (chaptalized?) and a finishing earthiness. Palate: Attack is dusty red cherries with a round mid-palate running to a streak of finishing minerals and mouth-watering acidity. The finish has shortened considerably in recent bottles which leads me to believe that this wine is at peak or even on the slightest down-slope. While I think it will hold for a few more years there is little here to lead me to believe it will make old bones. In sum, though I generally agree with AM's revue, I think the drinking window was set too far in the future. I have a few more bottles so we will find out.
