Pop and pour first taste is very nice. Youthful and no hint of oxidation. Really good balance of fruit:acid. Lacks a little Puligny terroir but clearly Burgundian. I would have guessed Chassagne. A really solid enjoyable wine.

We always enjoy Robuchon - anywhere in the world - but Hong Kong remains special with people we know and who know us, stunning execution of Robuchon's best dishes and a wonderful wine list. Fairly classic Puligny from Monsieur Girardin. He is one of our fav producers in Burgundy!!! We never shy away from anything he does! Of greater importance is the opportunity to sip such a stunner by the glass!

Vincent Girardin Burgundy from 2005-2007 (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Medium yellow. Duller, lower pitched aromatics than the '06 Folatieres. Lighter weight and less obvious wood than that wine. Less prominent fruit and more minerality. Sound acidity, and once again, back end oak. On one hand, it is finer than the older wine, but it seems rather neutral with little flavor authority through the mid-palate.

Light yellow with gold tones and a shadow of green. Stoney minerality and aggressive acidity dominates any fruit and nuance this wine has. There is a slightly rich feel and there is a precision and depth to this wine that says this is a year or two away from its optimum drinking window. Love the minerality. I feel the acidity will integrate. The future is bright for this wine.

Very good spot right now. Grungy minerals and sharpness. A really good example of slightly aged 1er Puligny.
