perfectly ripe dark raspberry and plum; a hint of funk quickly blows off; lean earth; some secondary notes; black tea tannins on the finish; easily stands up to a hearty chicken piccata

good clean mixed black raspberry; a hint of clean funk and sous bois; balanced and typical; poured a second glass with the stuffed pork and root veggies. add a point for just my style Day 2: leaner and the finish is mostly black tea--should have a third glass last night

No need to decant. Brick red. Modeerate depth of colour. Nose savoury. Intense palate but less fruit, more mushroom and oak. More velvet than silk texture. Finish carries unfortunate tones of harshness and forest floor.

bigger and more savory, with a bit of funk on day one; lightens up in a good way on day 2; still not much secondary characteristics, but balanced, enjoyable, and still evolving

Plenty of sweet fruit, tannins and acidity to keep developing. Pleasant enough at present but a certain harshness needs to be resolved.
