Wanted to see how this one did with age. Decanted, initially a big bloated massive mellow fruit bomb, Boomtown '09 tightened up over the hour and did rather well with the steak and, especially, the tomatoes.

dark fruit and earth. tighter, more inward oak appeal. in the prior vintages this has been too oak forward. palate still shows some sweet marshmallow. peeps will enjoy this. Day 4 and this has now become something I can enjoy. The sweet vanilla has retracted considerably. Black fruit and cocoa. MANDATORY is an extended decant. But you will be well rewarded.

Bill notes that it "smells like a barrel room". All that chocolate, mocha and cigar box going on. Taste different then last vintage. More itself rather than put through the boom-town-ierizer.
