70% Merlot and 30% Cab Franc. Garnet color with a nice nose of black cherry, plum and hints of earth and spice. On the palate it is medium bodied and elegant, however the tannins are still harsh, showing good aging potential. The fruit is vibrant and bright: flavors of sour cherry and blackberry are followed by a subtle earthiness. There is a spice/herbal element too. The oak is not as evident as in their '05 bottling. After spending 2 hours in the decanter it was still quite tight; however it worked very well with grilled lamb chop. This is definitely a wine worth aging
