Wine still had good color, legs and after being opened for a while softened up substantially. Nose was somewhat weak. Had with steak for my daughter's second to last meal at home before her return to Emory U. In Atlanta. Very impressed with how this wine has held up. Still have three more bottles to look forward to.

Decanted for 4 hours; Beautiful color and nice legs in the glass; starts on the nose and pallatte and nose with slight alcohol tang then there's a little rotted berry and it's chewy and finishes by rounding to a strong spice after taste that lingers nicely.

Initially a bit closed. Became much more drinkable after ~30 minutes in the glass. Soft red fruit without very much in the way of secondary notes or acidity. Maybe this was compounded by a bad food pairing choice, but this was disappointing compared to previous bottles from the same vintage

The second bottle of the evening (first was 2000 Mondavi Cabernet) - this was better! Perfect red-purple color in the glass, nice legs. The nose you expect of a Saint Emlion - spicey, currents, black pepper & cherry all mixed together. Complex on the pallette - starts out as currents and sour cherry, then the spicey, peppery flavors take over before rounding out to a lingering taste of great, spicey, chewey grape.

Still drinking well, better with steaks than on its own.
