Decanted for 2 hours. Med garnet w/ a tawny hue. Med+ to intense notes of bruised red apple, dried plum, dried herbs, dried roses, tobacco, soy sauce. Aged for 24 mos. in oak, which is now fully-integrated. Developed. Dry, but w/ lots of vibrant, juicy fruit. Med+ to high acidity, pronounced but polished tannins and high but well-integrated alcohol (14%). Full bodied, w/ med+ flavor intensity and a long, savory finish. Probably peaking, but should continue to show well for several more years. Classic, textbook example of aged Barolo.

This is marvelous right now. Absolutely marvelous. I think it's been peaking for the last couple years based on the evolution I saw in our prior 10 bottles. It surely can keep going another 10 years. Smooth, complex, deep - everything you'd want from a Barolo aged 15+ years.

Caught this in a great spot. Has plenty of life left and will continue drinking well for the next 5-7 years probably. Very much a classic Barolo with lots of dried fruit notes, licorice, tar, rose petals. Lovely wine for the price.

drank two bottles over four nights, and they were both very good... this wine (with at least 304 hours in decanter) is in its wheel house, and I suspect will have at least 10-15 more good years at / near peak, great old school Barolo typicity with the fruit visible through the haze of acidity, a tiny bit of smoke, and some lingering earth / tannin

this was great again, full minus body with plenty of red and purple fruit, decent acidity for balance, some hints of umami
