Room filling aromatics of ripe dark berries, vanilla bean, black licorice, and spice. The palate is all about pure, velvet mixed berry fruit with undertones of smoke and pepper. Soft tannins frame finishing tobacco, sweet blackberry, and cedar. While this is decidedly fruit forward, it is fantastically textured and performs well in that role. There is sufficient structure and acidity to keep a sense of freshness. R&M 89+

The nose is expressive, with full and pure aromas of smokey black/blue fruit and undertones of tar and asphalt. On the palate the wine opens with rich, ripe black cherry and vanilla elements. It transitions to the mid-palate with a more sour cherry focus, emphasizing components of fruit pit and bold coffee. These flavors integrate with finishing hints of earth and graphite. The wine is ridiculously smooth, with a velvet texture and seamless transitions. It is medium to full bodied with good weight. This is an excellent, well made wine, but is slightly monotone in nature. Make no mistake, the fruit is pure and delicious, but it would undoubtedly benefit from added secondary complexities. The bottle, however, always disappears quickly. R&M 88
