Weekly tasting group #214; Israel (@ CvR): In the bouquet red berries, bell pepper, leather and forest floor. On the palate chocolate, juicy red and dark berries, vanilla and other sweet spices, green herbs and white pepper. Good acidity and soft tannin. The wine is in its maturity stage and will drink nicely over the next few years. 89 - 90
Got the currant and black cherry. Got the short sour finish. But......... Cocoa would be my contribution to the palate discussion. This opens up to be much richer and chewier, and as it starts off so poorly, it's a pleasant surprise. Happy upcoming Easter Passover season.....

Israeli Wines (Ray's Sukkah): Purple/black in color. The nose has black cherries and black licorice. It is very smooth to drink. Turn slightly slightly bitter on the finish. Nice wine if not great.

Weekly tasting group #039; A mixed set of red wines. (@ CvR): Beautiful and complex bouquet with dark fruits, a lot of sweet as well as salty licorice and brush wood. On the palate a firm amount of (good) oak, ripe cherries and raspberries, some sweetness, soft tannin and bitterness and also good acidity. There was also a slight touch of metal. Overall a quite impressive wine from Israel and really a great pleasure to drink.

Dark garnet toward royal purple, medium to full-bodied, dark and red forest fruit such black currants and raspberries, notes of oak and dark chocolate with the near-sweet tannins rising on a moderately long finish.
