  • Ten Days in Burgundy, Champagne, and Paris; 6/24/2016-7/6/2016: Supremely elegant and expressive nose, highly floral, big red and black cherry fruit, and already showing nice forestry notes as well. Very cool, very quiet, ethereal. More mature than anticipated. Precise and focused on the palate with plenty of black cherry and some herbaceous menthol. Gains a bit of gamy meat with airtime. A visit with the winemaker last week suggested this would be a difficult bottle to find but managed to take it off a list in Paris.

  • First bottle was slightly corked....as evident when tasted next to this bottle. Very light and transparent, but with plenty of flavor..more to the delicate side. No real "vosne spice"...but more floral rose-like, with a little oak spice. Bright red berry fruit, dusty dried rose, lilac florals, some nice crunchy minerals, earth. Med bodied, plush feel....good dose of orange acidity....very tasty! We should have decanted this...as it continued to open up nicely at the end of the night.
