  • I was worried as the cork was wet and came out v easily. But the wine opened up very well . I uncorked it at 11 poured a bit into glasses at 1145 and was still uncertain, but it was fine. But 1 pm it was terrific. I was shocked at how much it changed. If had always been as good as it was at 1 pm I would have given it a 92 or 93

  • This was a lovely bottle. My expectations were quite low given its age and relatively unknown provenance. Had a difficult time getting the cork out - but patience paid off. Super smooth and still a lot of fruit and structure. Not flabby at all. Opened to celebrate our 25th anniversary year. More 1995s to come!

  • 13.2% ABV. Cellared for many years.

    Color: purple
Nose: medium intensity; lots of dried fruit with herbal notes; some violets; and a little smoke and spice!
Body/flavor: medium; complex mix of dried fruit; smooth mouthfeel; tannins are very subdued; subtle flavors. Attractive!
    Aftertaste: real nice finish!

  • Opened up with my new Coravin wine bottle opener. Just poured about 1/4 glass. This is really cool, allows me to taste some very good wines from my cellar with opening the entire bottle. The wine was just as I hoped for, just fruit left, great finish, really great wine. Will share for the holidays.

  • Cork was perfect, there was a ton of sediment, color was excellent, nose was clean, all very good signs. Surprisingly good after 45 minutes in decanter, smooth of course, and a touch of sweetness. Great with food, such a nice surprise! Stayed up there for two hours until it was gone.
