A very deep, dark cherry skin colour with a matted ruby rim. With the very first sniff, it is savoury and Bordeaux-like. Earthy barrique and dark red fruit, which then morphs to become something of a cross between blackberry and raspberry. Impressively plush entry on the palate, thins-out a bit mid-palate, but the red berry and dried-fruit finish is attractively fresh. Substantial, round and ripe tannins. This is the best 100% merlot I have had the pleasure of drinking. Very good plus and should cellar well for another five years.

Port4olio Tasting (O Hotel, LA): Awesome nose that has a very subtle character with a strong dark chocolate presence. Juicy palate.
