  • still a great zin, but seems to have lost some zip since previous bottles. Drink em if you got em, they're likely past peak

  • Again, a big brambly nose along with aromas of blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, violets, spices, flowers, vanillin oak. Similar flavors, with hints of white pepper. Full bodied and rich. Has viscosity (almost chewy), as well as being velvety in the mouth. Really good balance and structure. A long and extended finish. Paired well with NY steak.

  • Identical to my notes on 12-20-2013. Nice big brambly nose. As I've indicated in the past, a colossal Zinfandel.

  • Initially, right after the wine was opened, the nose seemed real brambly. Then, as it warmed a little, it settled down and exhibited aromas similar to my tasting of 20 months ago: blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, violets, spices, flowers, vanillin oak. Similar flavors, along with the same white pepper observed last time. It's still a blockbuster Zin. Big, rich and full bodied. velvety and viscous in the mouth. Tannins pretty much resolved. Great balance and good structure. A long and extended finish that becomes restrained toward the end. A colossal Zinfandel for me. Pairs quite well with filet mignon. Drinking great now and should continue to have a drinking plateau for 3 or 4 more years. I'll consume my remaining bottles probably over the next 2 or 3 years.

  • PnP. Brought to dinner at Ruth's Chris. Drinks we'll right out of bottle, but really started to shine after an hour of air. Great nose, full bodied wine with dark fruit and spice on the palate without being over the top. Great complexity and long finish for a Zin.
