  • Last of six bottles purchased in 2013. Cork disintegrated in half with a Ah-so cork puller, I managed to remove the remainder of the cork carefully with a standard screw. Strained and decanted.

At thirteen years this is still going strong. Slight bricking at the edges, but maintains a solid, deep ruby core. Aromatics and flavors are of a wine in the latter stages of development: spicy blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, juicy black cherry, wild black raspberry, savory plum, powdered chocolate, coffee grounds, dried cedar infused earth, underscored with gnarly tannin and a solid acidic foundation. Prevalent structure supports a long finish. Drinking at, or close to peak. Solid, long finish. Easily stood up to a grilled NY strip. I’m surprised at the longevity of this wine in comparison to the community recommended “drinking window”. Based on my experience with this producer, this has, easily, another 3-5 years of drinking potential.

  • Nice dark color, perhaps just a hint of brick on the edge. Dark bramble berry notes on the nose. Rich, dark fruit on the palette, good balance, perhaps a characteristic hint of pepper. The finish lasted a long time. This wine was very good, but if you still have it, I don’t,think it will get any better.

  • Starting to get a little brickish in color, a little barnyard on the nose along with the dark berries, the barnyard dimished as it breathed. Velvety mouth feel with nice acidity and tannins with a with a long finish with the fruits, oak, vanilla and tobacco similar to what we tasted in 2012. Deeee-licious :)

  • This is a wine I could never get tired of. Perfect blend of grapes result in a nicely integrated wine with soft tannins with a smooth, lush mouthfeel. I wish I bought more as this is drinking incredibly well.

  • Really enjoyed this one. A nice blend of cab, merlot, cab franc, petit Verdot and Malbec all nicely integrated. Drinking well.
