  Dark Ruby color. Surprisingly only minor color change on the rim of my glass for a 23 year old Cabernet. Baking spice, musty earth and vanilla on the nose. Perfume emerges in the bouquet as it opens up. The tannins have softened but this is still a massive wine. Dark cherry is the predominant fruit on the palate with a hint of raisin. The finish is largely cherry and a hint of spice. This is an extraordinary bottle of wine that I was sad to finish but lucky to have discovered. My wife loved it as much as I did!

  I purchased this at the Kanonkop cellar in September 2014, where it had rested in their cellars since production. This was a fantastic wine, a great nose and rich blackcurrant and leather flavours. Surprisingly, the wine appeared and tasted quite young, despite its 20+ years. Far exceeded my expectations.
