Popped and poured, gave small aeration with seive. Fine sediment. Orange hue. Mature Barolo once again in a prime spot. Tannins not too big but present. Lots of soft cherries with good secondaries, beautiful nose, and in a great place tonight. Went well with homemade roasted veggie pasta sauce. Need to buy more of these aged Barillas to restock my celler. Still rocking on night two with it only being recorked.

Opened by Mark. Brick red color. Lightly sedimented. Not decanted but opened an hour before drinking. A dry Barolo with tart red fruit, cactus and and an earthy finish. Moderate tannins. Really nice and more forward than the 2001 Barolo Vecchia Vigne that we drank alongside this. 92 points.

Similar to, and just as good as the 07 Vigna Giachini we had two months ago. Dark, tarry and delicious. Should drink on this plateau for quite a while.

Pnp table-side so no decant. Cork pristine. Min fine sediment. Beautiful nose soft red fruits, some earth and mushrooms. Classic palate of a mature Barolo, still lots of fruit. Tannins still big and almost hindering the pleasure quotient. Still a good Barolo experience pared with Italian cuisine. Hold for short term versus open w decant.

Fellow Oenophiles: Is there an Italian wine that is elegant and full bodied with gripping tannins? That isn't acidic and/or doesn't taste like chewing a barrel stave? I give up.
