Last bottle, served at cellar temperature, gently decanted first...slight aniseed, peppery spice, plummy fruit, jubey notes, getting a leathery & meaty underpin, a smidge of garrigue as well. Nice nose. Juicy, fleshy, textured stewed black tea tannic burr, baked dark fruit still present here which, with time and air, gets more red fruited whilst retaining its jubeyness, the serving temperature helps with the alcohol warmth. Lovely and excels with grilled pork chops with a cinnamon and smoked paprika dry rub.

Coravin fun - Alsace, Loire and Random French (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of baked dark hued fruits, a little cream and sweet spice. With agitation the fruit grows but remains a little brooding, leather and alcohol prickle are also evident. The palate is more elegant than the nose implies. Balanced acid & fruit, medium minus intensity textured tannins in support, a little leather. Long. Lithe. Very nice.

Baked black, plum and red fruit, liquorice, sweet spice, a little pepper spice, meaty and gamey underpin. On the palate it's warm and spiced with baked black and red fruits married to silky tannins. Okay.

Next to the Pommard though the nose is pretty it is also meaty, gamey and a little warm which translates to the palate. The fruit is baked red berry and a little peppery spice as well with chalky tannic burr on the mid palate. Nice.

Dark berried fruit, a smidge of liquorice, a little spice, rich, ripe, touches of baked earth and slightly dusty. An eminently quaffable drop.
