13.5% abv. The best of four bottles of different wines I picked up at Trader Joe's in Raleigh two years ago. That's not saying a lot because I really didn't like the other wines. This one was acceptable in my view. Deep purple color with crimson rim; opaque. Tastes of sweet cherries along with the dried fruit notes from the ripasso method. Some soft tannins on the finish. Leaves a sweet-sour sensation with ripe fruit flavors and a tartness coming together.

Fabulous wine for the price! Big fruit with some raisin notes on the finish. For a $10 TJ's purchase, I am quite happy. Think big heavy Italian dishes for this one!

When first opened this wine was like cough syrup - lots of fruit but also very astringent. I almost poured it out. Revisited two days later and was quite surprised how it had developed. It became smooth with lush fruit and a nice spring/summer red that matched well with BBQ chicken. It is inexpensive. For fun 'm going to open a bottle in a couple of years to see if it improves.

I left the wine in the cellar for too long. Tart and some tannin. Still some cherry bouquet

Serviceable Monday nite dinner dinner wine. Starts sweet, turns tart, fruity with some astringency.
