Deep gold, oxidative colour. Was taking a chance on this wine at this age! Evolved nose with honey and syrup notes and some wet chalk. Dry, with a crisp acidity, but the fruit sadly has gone and only the honey and acid remain.

This is not a chardonnay for the feint of heart. Lemon/gold colour (dare I say it could almost pass for piss in a glass), very present oak, dense and very rich, touch of honey, finishes with a bit of lemon sour. Somewhat in the Meursault style, but with a new world edge and boldness.

Last bottle. If you like graceful elegant Chardonnay with light oak an essence of minerality and hints of light fruit then this is NOT the wine for you. This remains a brooding monster full on but nicely balanced oak and lashings of buttery toast, ripe melon and a wonderfully long finish

Aromas at pnp are a little long in the tooth, quite sweet corn. Palate is more sur point. Clove is so softened.
