($12) Medium red with some tawny notes. Some translucence and a cloudy aspect. Balsa wood and cherry cola nose. Ripe, medium bodied with acids in check. Drinking quite well. Not as concentrated as the 1999, but very tasty and in my opinion a nice expression of Sangiovese grown in California.

($12) Started off with cherry fruit, reasonably bright acidity, medium-full body and good concentration. Showing some balsa wood overtone. With air more strawberry fruit flavors emerged. Nice QPR

this was serviceable but as it opened it had a fake/cheap wine thing going on that was unpleasant.

Fantastic wine. Very complex, held up well over time. Great with braised short ribs.
