Cork broke through the core as it was removed, but it did not look like the wine was affected. Ruby red core with orange brinking on the rim. Nice signs of age. Taste had a bit of moca, cedar, nice earthy notes. The fruit did not come through as nicely. It was there as some cherry or plum, but quite muddled. Still nice. The finish, while long and lingering, was bitter. The wine was probably much brighter several years ago. Probably drank too late .
