This was my second bottle. I was a little apprehensive as my firts felt a little past its prime. I let this one decant for 2 hrs. What a difference ! All the right notes on the nose, earth, mushroom , tobacco and chocolate. Perfectly integrated tannins, pruned fruit. Amazing wine with a duck cassoulet.

GrandCuvee - Bordeaux 2003 Horizontal (Praelum Wine Bistro): A nice velvety feel and weight, with mostly chocolates, tar, and a slight bit of sweet raisins at the back. Some tar, eapresso beans, and forest floor towards the back. While tannins are still strong, it’s well balanced off by some mouthwatering acids. Also the alcohols are not too high and well countered by the flavour intensity. Great wine!

One of many Christmas holiday wines. Uncorked, decanted off the sediment. Alive, fruity but slightly stewed. Faded over the course of three hours, perhaps an off bottle so no rating.

Clear, ruby/tawny hints, med nose, earth, oak and some red fruit. High acid, low tannins, repeats the nose. Beatiful. Ready to drink.
