Sorry for those CT community members who still have 92 bottles of this in total - It's dead sadly, and our ambient cellar is cooler than most so typically we get a few more years of prime drinking out of our 'big reds' but this was our first wine that truly was undrinkable due to being past it's shelf life. Sad, but I'm sure it happens to many! (My guess was it's been 'undrinkable' for about 2 years.

92-93, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Popped-and-poured, with just 10 minutes in the glass before drinking, it clocks in with a whopping 15.5% alcohol, but I actually didn't notice it... until 30 minutes after dinner.
Wonderful savory notes of smoke or smoked meat, blood and olives, with refreshingly good acidity. Just a touch of oak, but so nicely integrated. A bit of stewed fruit, but in the best way, as I'm usually turned off by too much stewed fruit taste - and I wasn't at all here. Looking forward to see what happens on day 2.
4+ years ago JungleJuice tasted this next to a 2009 Tensley Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah, and preferred the Tensley. I had a 2011 Tensley Colson last fall, and at least for now, I preferred this to that.

Deep ruby, almost opaque. Black and clue berries, smoke, tar, cherries, pepper, cola spice, light game notes, salt and black olives. Med+ body, rip of acid cuts through, silky texture, finishes med+. Cherry cola, bacon, olives, white pepper, dark plums, some musty notes. This is somewhat complex, well made and integrated. Im a fan of this bottling from K, call is complex lite. Really enjoyable.

This bottle is just more proof that Washington is producing great wines. Wonderful coffee notes on the nose. Easy drinking style. Took about 30 minutes to open up. Ready to drink.
