  • This is a wine of many contradictions! It is drinking well now but still feels youthful. It is richly tannic but they are starting to soften out. Beautiful colour with only early signs of bricking towards the edge. There is plenty of Barolo typicity on the nose with wonderful tar, roses and violets - the nose itself is intoxicating!, what fabulous perfume! It is an intensely rich wine with deep dark red fruits and tannins that are dusty but still significant. There is spice there as well, a subtle touch of clove. It’s drinking wonderfully without the need to decant (not sure if it would be necessary) but on this showing it has years ahead - at least a decade! Lovely wine!

  • Early optimal drinking window, no need to hurry through. Very good, plain delicious, even without food.

  • Nebbiolo Prima (day 4) #229. The string of successes at this property are continued with the 2007 offering. There's an elegance here that is made even more inviting by the streak of fresh, lively acids. Depth and purity, with excellent varietal and regional typicity. The attention to detail in the vineyards is palpable. A lovely wine, on many fronts, and one with a solid future. highly recommend , drink thru 2027.
