Blackish color with fading edges. Really funky, earthy nose with notes of tar, truffle, bitter chocolate and rose petals. Seems quite perfectly mature with really good concentration and richness. Delicious "old world" flavors of tar, truffles, iodine and smoky bitter chocolate. Finishes ripe but with slightly hot tannins typical of a traditionally-styled Barolo. This is the reason I collect wine - to let it mature in my cellar until it reaches its zenith of drinkability after having been stored perfectly for its whole life. Whoa!
