  • Old cork with mold on the top. That usually means a great Riesling is inside in my experience :-)

Cork came out whole. Nose was intoxicating, with a whiff of petrol then a rich, heavy, floral/honey scent.
Palate was light, rich, sweet, long and clean. Nicely balanced and very nice with the spicy Thai food.
I don't drink these wines much any longer and every time I pop one of these I wonder why I don't...lovely bottle.
    Would buy again.

  • Light yellow in color. Classic Riesling aromas of orchard pit fruits, yellow flowers, touch of petrol and green herbs. Light-medium bodied palate shows peach/pear compote, vanilla bean, green herbs, lower acidity than in previous bottles and a long sweet finish. Not bad with food, but needs a good jolt of acidity to keep things fresh on the palate.

  • Medium yellow in color. Lovely aromas of sweet summer orchard pit fruit compote, lemon-grass, flint, hint of petrol and honeysuckle. A thick, viscous palate shows good depth to the quite cooked yellow fruits, creamy vanilla poached pears and minerals on a long and sweet finish. A touch more acidity would have helped elevate the wine. Nevertheless this showed better than a previous bottle.

  • Medium yellow in color. Deep aromas of ripe citrus (more yellow than green), lemon zest, green herbs and brown spices on the nose. A medium bodied palate shows perfect balance with ripe, sweet citrus marmalade, honey and excellent acidity that keeps the wine well balanced on a lengthy lip-smacking finish. This is a much better showing then the previous bottle.

  • Light to medium yellow in color. Opens with classic petrol, sweet citrus, peaches and herbs. A rather flat palate reveals sweet ripe orchard fruits, lemon curd and touch of minerality on the finish. The wine needs a lot more zing (acidity) and spice to keep it more interesting. Ehhh..., quite drinkable but too simple and one dimensional.

(Bert Simon Serriger Herrenberg Auslese) Very open nose of huge ripe pit fruits with a long finish. Not really showing that much complexity but what it lacks in complexity it makes up for in sheer flavor impact.
