Kristin and Colin's 30th (Chicago, IL): Pretty clean, with the botrytis showing without any of the dirty mushroomy notes. An odd celery salt note on the nose, but the palate is devoid of that flavour. Good richness and breadth on the palate, with the expected amount of sugar for its age.

Mature golden color. This wine is nearing the end of its plateau. Slightly musty, with some petrol and golden fruits. Medium depth with good acid balance. Nice wine - drink up. (88)

This wine continues to age beautifully. Deep golden color. Earthy, petrol nose that caresses the mind. Rich and silky palate has lovely weight. Starts and finishes strong with no letdown in the middle - a complete wine that reminds me of a perfectly ripe nectarine in an old Riesling robe. Glorious. (94)

Fevre Grand Cru's & 1964 Piedmont Dinner (Ian's House): The nose was filled with petrol, honeyed pears, flint and lanolin. The palate was surprisingly lithe, almost airy and not what I (or anyone else) had expected from this 22 year old Auslese. This was popped and poured and I think I made the mistake of not decanting this...with air, the nose opened up a bit. While not your typical aged Auslese, I found it to be very enjoyable and it paired very well with a beautiful oven-roasted pear dessert with creme fraiche.

(Bert Simon Serriger Herrenberg Auslese) Nose of mushrooms, lemons and chlorophyl. Very complex aromas with a nice but not great palate that has loads of asian spices. I was a bit dissapointed with this one.
