  • Very nicely matured, ready, but will keep. Complex, very interesting, swaying between ripe fruit - quince, pear - floral, lightly honeyed and mineral, savoury notes. Very nice balance and length. Great value.

  • Very nice wine, but I cannot agree this is classic Vouvray.
Fairly deep hue but not indicative of oxidation in this case. Skin contact?
There is the classic combination of fruity and savory aromas that you get in good Chenin Blanc.
Nice floral and fruity aromas, very modest acidity and a rich, creamy texture.
It's still drinking nicely at 14 years despite a relative lack of acidity.

  • You can't put Chenin in a box... that said, this is classic Chenin. Gorgeous stuff, hardly showing its age. Aromas of wet wool, overripe pear, ripened quince, citrus preserves, mushrooms, a little honey and late autumn meadow... Immensely complex and rich on the palate, full and textured, borderline syrupy, but not sweet, this comes across dry, I would guess less than 10 grams RS, but wouldn't be surprised to find it has 20. This explodes on the finish: ripe and cooked fruit flavors combine with myriad subtle earthy and spicy tones, as well as intense mineral notes. This has another decade, at least, of great drinking ahead of it, in fact I think it is years away from its apogee.

  • Tasty, off-dry with ample acidity to balance it, modest richness, fairly typical Vouvray but with an unusual fennel bulb twist that helped it pair very well with crispy roast duck and cumin lamb.

  • 1st of 2 bottles. PnP and enjoyed over several nites.
Chenin has never been my favorite grape, but this wine was full of energy and verve and was quite good.
No formal TN, but loved the zesty finish and the wooly notes on the nose.
    Drink now through 2026+.
