Drunk over 2 days with many other wines at a tasting of magnums. This is fairly straightforward central coast Syrah, with a nose of meat jus, bouquet garni, black fruits, & a bit of violet. Moderately rich palate that's best with dry sausages or red meats/stews. I have a couple more of these, but there's no rush to open them. They seem to be holding well & may become a little more interesting in 4-6 years.

Opened for 3 hours and then had with strip steaks. Big juicy wine as expected. Black and red fruit. Smooth and easy to drink. Was hoping for a bit more complexity but was still a good wine. Hallmarks of a lot of Central Coast reds.

I’m glad I read the TN’s after drinking the wine. I think I may have anticipated a so-so edition of Joey Tensley’s annual large format bottling. Fortunately my bottle of the ‘10 OGT was fantastic. Okay, so it’s a bit fruit forward but for crying out loud, this is a big-ass Syrah from the Central Coast. It’s gonna be a little in your face.

lots of juicy blackberry and blueberry, with mineral and licorice on the finish. A fun fruit bomb that also has some depth.
