Really enjoyable, though not what I expected from this - it's slightly rustic and surprisingly developed with a lovely aroma of briary red fruits, leather and rusty/ferric elements. Savoury in the mouth with leathery, rusty and earthy notes dominating and gentle red fruited elements beneath, with some tannic grip on the back end.

My bottle had some corkiness which diminished with time. Otherwise, an elegant wine with some spice and character that goes with Vosne Romanee. At $45 I got a good value in a mature Burgundy (just bought it on closeout a month ago.)

Nose of cherry, prune, fig, earth, truffled mushroom, leaves; mouth-filling, velvety, clinging, mysteriously full bodied, lingering

This was an stylish yet understated wine. Had finesse & subtlety. Not obvious but classy. 17.
