Brick red throughout and showing its age visually. Lovely nose right out of the gate. Plum, desiccated berries, cocoa nibs, tobacco, licorice root, dried leaves, herbs de Provence. Opens up into floral violets/lilacs with cake batter, vanilla and iron filings. Tannins have really integrated and are powdery. The acid is just a little angular and hangs on a bit aggressively on the finish, but not too bad. Overall, very enjoyable, very food-friendly.

Seymour Wine Club Meeting 5/30/15 (Home of Lew Stanio): Tasted blind. Tried this and identified it as a Chianti so I was pretty proud of myself. Aromas of dried cherry, leather, raspberry and rose petal on the nose. This had flavors of cherry, black olive, earth and tar that ended with a nice 20 second finish. My favorite wine of the night. I thought this was really drinking great for what it was.

Some brick to the color, cherry notes to the nose, tannins still firm but work with the acid backbone; it worked well with our pesto pasta and its olive oil base. Nice drinking now, could give it a few more years in the cellar.

Sour cherry, raspberry, dried licorice root and dried herbs on the nose. Flavor wise the palate doesn't deliver; however it has a good structure.
