  • A generous, pleasing, meaty nose, with cedar, black pepper and dark fruits. A medium weight body, more of red fruit. Completely integrated tannins, clean, smooth finish with ample fruit and acidity; and a touch of green tobacco.. Not all that concentrated and still relatively simple flavors. I think this wine is at its peak right now, wouldn't wait more than two or three years more...

  • Nose: The nose is pungent and elegant with a lot of black pepper, bacon fat, black cherries, some meaty tones, perfumes, and some floral notes. There is excellent depth and style with the nose more favoring elegance than rusticity.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and silky, but youthful tannins. The feel is refined and elegant with black cherries, black pepper, white pepper, bacon fat, and floral notes on the back end.

Overall: This is a gorgeous Cote-Rotie. While it can certainly last longer, it is a real joy to drink right now.

  • Nice ruby color. Surprisingly light bodied. Very perfumed nose. On the palate, delicate and elegant with lots of red fruits and prominent floral notes. Little to no decanting needed; it induces euphoria immediately. Excellent drinking now, but absolutely no hurry.

  • Very powerful and fragrant nose that yields ripe, dark cherry, black pepper, potpurri, peppered bacon, smoked meat and leather. This literally hurt my nose when I smelled this wine-but I couldn't stop smelling it. In the mouth this was bold, with racy acidity. The tannins were gripping and herbacious. Even though this wine is a decade or more from being ready to drink, it's probably the best wine I've had this year. I don't know exactly how much Viognier is in this monster, but with the fragrance in the nose, I'm guessing there is 20%.
