Opened and decanted an hour ahead of beef cabbage soup. Dark, purple-violet with a blue hue. Nose is extremely perfumed and floral, bringing a variety of lavender and violet notes mixed with roses, forest floor, and tar. The palate is medium-full, square, compact, and juicy, bringing a powerful brambly core of blackberries, blueberries, and red cherries mixed with some dark chocolate, dried leather, beef stock, and pipe tobacco into a tannic yet refined finish. This has really improved over the past 18 months, but its best years are still ahead. Drink 2022-2030. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

Opened but did not decant, drank over following few hours with rose sausage pasta and after. Nose brought spring violets, roses, and lavender with whiffs of beef stew and tobacco. The palate is medium, square, compact, and closed, bringing muddled traces of cherries, blackberries, blueberries, iodine, and mushrooms into a tannic yet subtle finish. Shut down at the moment. Drink 2022-2030. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.

Better even after two hours in the decanter. Fragrant aromas of bacon and dark berries. Mouth is medium-weight and elegant with silkiness to texture and good grip. A lovely, typical Côte-Rôtie with its spiciness. Cellared since original release.

highly perfumed with a bouquet of red and blue fruit, smoked meat and lavender, carried by a lovely spine of acidity, flavors include red and black cherries, red plum, red licorice and flower, savory, mouth-watering, the fruit theme is red, elegantly balanced, caresses the palate, drank well on the third day of being open, this will open up nicely over the next decade

Vindredi (Hermitage vs Cote Rotie, and friends) (Bellevue, WA): Tasted blind. Beautiful aromatics: pretty flowers, sweet cherry, bright fruit, bubble gum, and strawberry. Light and primary on the palate, with sweet cherry and pretty floral notes. Soft, fine tannins. Showy and enjoyable, if a bit simple.
