PNP (JP brought to dinner), took awhile to open up & is actually much better on day 2, deep ruby, dark fruit with vanilla, med. tannins med. finish; very good, drink or hold

Opened well and had an amazing nose. Gave it two hours in the bottle. More fruit than i expected, tannins had largely aged out. Good wine, but didnt blow me away.

Definitely on the hedonistic side, big concentrated fruit with fairly well integrated oak. Served cool to keep the alcohol in check. Another taster (blinded) was picking up a significant Merlot influence. All together, a little too high octane, and lacking the earth and freshness I look for in CA Cabernet.
