Brilliant garnet in color, with mild aromas of earth and dark fruit, with flavors of concentrated dark black raspberry and blackberry and touch of dark chocolate and baking spice. Still plenty of tannic edge and acidity, but I think the fruit is starting to fade against these. Drink now.

This is drinking wonderfully right now. Hard not to like. Redfruit with blueberry and baking spice. No reason to wait, this wine is a great example of why WA can be such great place to drink Merlot.

Not sure if it was how it was stored, but the bottle I had seemed fully evolved, smooth fine tannins were fully integrated and there was just enough acidity left to keep it from feeling flabby, great notes of leather and tobacco, hints of plum and dried violet with a rich velvety mouthfeel that developed over the hour in the decanter.

Yakima Valley Maiden Voyage Tasting Tour!; 11/14/2012-11/18/2012 (Yakima Valley AVA, Naches Heights, Snipes, Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain, Rattlesnake AVAs): Candy nose and sweet red summer fruit. Blue and red fruit flavors with streaks of sage running through the finish. Pretty wine with subdued characteristics.
