  • This is an unusually full-bodied and rich sauvignon blanc. While the nose is chock full of sauvignon blanc character, the plump creaminess and ripe melon and peach purée is a markedly different style than the French and New Zealand wines to which I'm accustomed.

I think this is a worse food wine than traditional sauvignon blancs. I assumed this would be a good match with the Japanese food I ordered for delivery, but it totally overpowered and was a disappointment. It would be better suited to dishes that one might pair with rich white Burgundy. On the other hand, it drinks better as a standalone wine than traditional sauvignon blancs.

Overall, I disfavor this style of wine. But if big and rich is what floats your boat, this is the sauvignon blanc for you.

  • exceptional value at $15 a half bottle.

they pack a ton of fruit in here, and with the age and the italian terroir my only (limited) comparison point was the lowest tier didiers ive had.

would like to try the 2010 which has higher vintage rating.

  • Big and massively sturcutre. One taster notes its weird NZ SB with way to much chassis. And that about sums it up.

  • Stinky grass on nose, think old world New Zealand-like. Lots of complexity, creamy, old world earth. 7 months on the lees, 10 months in the bottle before release. A little bitter. Old school wine.

  • Nose is lightly of apricots and peaches and what I imagine apricot blossoms must smell like. There's ripe honeydew in there too. This is an easy-drinking, well-balanced wine with a medium-long finish. It's not terribly complex, but what's there is a joy to the senses.
