Started as just cherry, simple flavor but with a terrific pure mouthfeel and quite precise finish for Bourgogne. After an hour in decanter gobs of cinnamon and some five spice, palate more round and a touch more dense. Can't ask for more than this in a Bourgogne, and it confirms my earlier sense that 2010 will be as special for reds as it was for whites, perhaps even more so. 🍷

A private lunch (Restaurant De Burgemeester *, Linschoten, Netherlands): Bourgogne Rouge in overdrive, freshness and evolution, energetic and bright, village level easily, more Chambolle than Vosne in style, very good length. Quite stunning for what it is.
