Lost two magnums of this in the cellar and stumbled over them looking for something else for the meal today. Certainly mature, maybe a bit past its peak. Sour and lean, almost austere, in an appealing, Chablis sort of way. Gritty MdM profile. Could use the padding of a hint more fruit - perhaps better a year or two ago. Good wine nevertheless and suitable for the day's festivities.

After reading a note elsewhere on an early-oxidized bottle, I opened a magnum for the family 4th celebration. The wine was pleasant enough initially and unambiguously Chablis, though soft and muted. It continued to develop favorably in a decanter over the course of a long evening, and the half-magnum or so left in the bottle improved the next evening over an hour or two, giving more and more precision and finesse until it became almost delicate, though retaining good intensity and mineral cut, along with characteristic swampy flavors. Overall, an impressive showing. I may serve my other two in this format before long, though with a lengthier decant.

(Domaine Pinson Frères Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu) Tight, slightly wood nose; very tasty, balanced, tart citrus and mineral palate, a little tight; short-medium finish

In great shape with classic Chablis characteristics. Could easily go another 4-6yrs.
