Tasted next to the 2007 Allemand Reynard. The nose was absolute killer on this wine. Just beautiful and lots going on with dark and red fruit, a hint of barnyard, and a slight wildness that kept it interesting throughout the night. Very well balanced with nice acidity on the palate along with medium tannins and flavors red berries and brine. Long finish. A wow wine. I preferred this over the Reynard, which generally seemed a bit darker and more primary.

Plenty of tasty treats as Dougherty hosts the Louis/Dressner winemakers- Huet, Foreau, Trimbach, Coche-Dury, Juge, Foillard and more. (Dougherty's.): Quite good, though seemingly a little atypical from the old Juge I know and love as there's no real funk or barnyard notes. It's quite fragrant with loads of violets, black fruit and licorice on the nose. On the palate the black fruit is sweet, but not overripe and shows nice purity. There's a little bit of rusticity with the tannins, but I have to say, this is the cleanest Juge I can recall trying. Black olives, anise, a hint of herb and black pepper round out the flavor profile with nice minerality. Nice acidity for an '07, though the wine is maybe just a touch drying on the finish. Low A-.

Typical funky young Juge nose of scorched green coffee bean and black olive. Violets, rich red fruits, scorched kashi palate with juicy acids and such fine, beautiful tannins. This is very Juge and stunningly good, really grand cru shit. I do wonder if it's perhaps a precocious vintage given how tired the leftovers were the following day, but no complaints.

Pearl of Burgundy Gala Dinner 2024 (Four Seasons Hotel): From a magnum, still very youthful some olive, stems, a little jam but lovely on the palate.

Took a few hours of decanting for it to show its fruit. Dark red fruits with some spice and anise. Long, lingering finish. Delicious.
