Found a few bottles in an Auckland store, I’m unsure if it’s a library release of just unsold stock, either way the extra few years has done wonders for this Wine and it has some tasty tertiary development notes to go with the fruit, potential for further keeping here as there’s still good fruit concentration

Crimson-brick colour which is translucent enough to make out 3 fingers on the other side of the glass (gulp! this makes me nervous as I'm a fan of full-throttle reds). Thankfully there is more depth and complexity to this then I had imagined. A few years of bottle ageing has made this an exceptional wine. On the nose are glazed cherries, candy floss, and cinnamon. Christmas has come early this year! The first glass I had as an aperitif, the second I had paired with roast lamb. Delicious.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like strawberry jam. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. This was a second tasting after a year and again it was enjoyable but with no length of finish. The fruits tended towards dried fruit so therefore it probably is drink now.

Australian wines at Crystalwines (Singapore): Same light garnet color with transparent rim as the Morton. Also a fair bit of oak here but better integrated. Pleasant.

Better than when I tasted it a few months ago. It is not too young anymore.
