Just like a bottle 2 years ago. Black and blue fruit attack, briary acidity, light body, clay base-classic sweet/savory combination. Terrific stuff with typical Gamay tart edge going strong at age 10.

A Farewell to Matt (Classic Wine Storage, Dallas, TX): Matt's contribution. Decanted. Very different than the 2015 Thivin Zaccharie. Dark cherries, nutmeg, herbs, and mild sous bois. Mouthfeel is more silky with overall palate presence that feels more like pinot than young gamay. Nicely balanced and should have several more years left.

Light, even ruby. Prototypical Gamay aromas of tart cherry and a bit of mint. Light but fleshes out with air. Lovely, precise, sour cherry and even a little blue fruit. Saline, stony base. This is still tight and youthful. Impressive for the regular bottling-I'd love to see how the Vieille Vigne cuvée is doing.

Medium ruby center. Graphite and sour cherries. Light, crisp mixture of black and dark red fruit with mouthwatering saltiness and acidity accompanied by a dash of earth. Very Gamay, very Morgon. I was surprised to see that this was the first time I had tasted this since I am a huge fan of this Descombes bottling.

Quite nice, though already evolving quite a bit. A mix of cranberry and darker fruits, good acidity, some drying/chalky tannins on the finish.
