13.5% alcohol. Shortish cork with no wine penetration. Medium colour with some thinning at the edge of the rim. The nose is frank and pleasant with mostly cherries. The mouth is fuller than what I expected with good fruit, excellent balance and refreshing acidity. Not profound but very satisfying, and as good a Savigny as I have ever had. Vincent Girardin got out of the wine business a good few years ago (moving to cereal growing unless I am mistaken), so the repeat purchase question does not arise, although the name is still being used as far as I know. Would buy again otherwise.

drank at Menlo CC Chairman's Cup dinner, suffered in the tables assessment because folks gravitated toward the big Pride cab we also had, i thought this was nice but not re-buy, light bodied, decent acid and very straightforward fruit profile… better than a big overdone Cali pinot but not the best of burgundy by a wide margin

Dark cherries and some heat on the nose. Palate is somewhat harsh with grainy tannins, flavors of cherry, earth, spice, and some heat. Fairly rich and dark for burgundy. Not my favorite at the moment.

2009 Cote de Beaunes (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA): Some brett on the nose to start which blew off to reveal sweet black cherry and cinnamon red hots. Medium bodied with low to medium acidity. Juicy black cherry fruit on the palate, light tannins. Nice, but a bit round and one-dimensional.

Lots of fruit for a burgundy style wine with just a little bit of funk on the nose.
