Clear brightly color wine with an obvious orange tone. Clean but showing signs of age, guessing 7-10 years. Raspberry, tar, mushroom, cherry and cranberry on the nose. Also a hint of Tobacco. On the Palate Bone Dry with High Tannins and Elevated to high acidity. Was guessing slightly younger, but otherwise pretty straight forward wine.

Based on my prior experience three years ago with this wine, I went ahead and decanted prior to enjoying with roasted, crusted pesto pork over spaghetti. Seems to have gained lots of weight the last three years, much fuller bodied than the first bottle. Noted more complexity, layering, along with some slightly jammy, spicy red fruit notes in the flavor profile, with the oak being much better integrated. In spite of the jammy sensation on the initial entry, this wine is very dry at mid-palate. Solid, long finish. Slightly improved overall but not enough to change my prior assessment. Nice value in the low $30's.

I would say this is in its drinking window now. But not much depth in flavor as a Barolo. Not bad for basic Barolo

Good for price with many Nebbiolo characteristics. Aromatic, medium weight, with high acidity. But not especially exciting.
