  • Similar to my last bottle but showing more complete. Decanted and poured off into a half - consumed over two nights. Pretty nose of red fruit - strawberry, raspberry with a pleasant herbal streak, the cab and the gamay compliment each other very well in these respects. The liveliness that I noted in my last bottle (2013) has calmed down and suaveness of the cab is more on display, making this mellow and supple. There is still a little grip on the backend. My only complaint is the uniqueness of the oak here. While there isn't a lot and it isn't obtrusive, its leaves a distinct signature on the wine that is a bit distracting.

  • Opaque purple it the glass. We did not decant this (but should have). Beautiful nose of strawberries, cherries and currant; the nose is the best part. Palate shows currant (some black and some red) and bay leaves. There is a vibrant acidity on the finish from the gamay and it still has a fair amount of tannins to resolve. It probably needs a few more years, it had a nice structure to last a while. Good - Hold

  • I liked this wine. It is inexpensive @ $17 and has solid fruit and tannins. Balance is good and finish holds.

  • Nice blend. Earthy with good fruit but the tannins were a little soft. Don't plan to keep these very long.

  • The wine is a medium to dark ruby red color. The nice but slightly shy nose has black raspberries, plums, baking spices, fresh wild flowers, and a touch of licorice. This has medium body, soft tannins, and nice acidity. The palate has nice, spicy fruit, with a bit of toasty oak. The finish has decent length with just a touch of earthiness entering the picture. This is a very nice "change of pace" wine and something very unique. This is mainly estate grown Gamay with some Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Sirah.
