deep dark colour with mild viscosity. took some time for the nose to start to show faint aromas of black fruit amid the leather and tobacco. dry in the mouth with soft tannins and a lingering subtle presence of fruits into a long-ish finish that has peppery undertones.
drink up, this is wine is fading…

Can't quite decide if this tastes like cabernet or sangiovese. Maybe both because they are both there. Enjoyed with pizza with lots of meat toppings, although not quite as good a pairing as Vincent Arroyo's straight Sangiovese. Susan enjoyed it a lot, I thought it was good with reasonable but not outstanding QPR. Ready to drink now.

I was shocked at how well this wine held up. It has been aged in my cellar and it shows. For a wine that should be over the hill this is still strong
