Cork failed, totally saturated with wine. Despite this, aroma was heavenly berries exploding out of the glass. The palate was muted but still sound with a hint of tobacco. I’ve found that if the cork holds, the wine holds for most very old CA first growths.

Beautiful wine still displaying lush soft fruit in waves. Some dark chocolate mixed with crushed brambles on the nose, lightly acidic, tannins resolved but a tartness to the soft juicy finish that hints at some life yet to live. Marvellous!

Drinking beautifully. Great balance and color. Fresh and seductive. Always appreciate the aging potential of these wines. This year’s birthday wine!
