Decanted for one hour. Sweet red fruit, cherry, cucumber, chocolate, spices, cinnamon, and a black tea leave aspect, with good acidity, partly resolved tannin, and very good length. Some VA. Average complexity, but good concentration, and good balance overall. Drink now.

92. Perfect cellar since purchase. Still strong. 2 hour decant. Medium to heavy sediment. Brown red/very deep purple thin on the edges. Drinks much heavier than it looks in terms of weight. Raisin glaze dominant on taste and nose. Think of glazed ham. Plum. Interesting nose, evolving, faint floral and burnt sugar, fig jam. 30 sec finish.

Cork stained for one inch; fill good. Decanted three hours; moderate sediment. Cloudy garnet color with bricking at the rim. Dark cherries and plums on a delightful flowery nose... classic Amarone. Powerful jammy fruit and lively acids on the palate. Some bitterness and heat on a lengthy finish. Should drink well for at least 2-3 more years.

Past its prime. But still interesting drink. Lost its color. Strong notes of chocolate.

In general, I'll stand by my notes February 22, 2016. However the finish seems somewhat better and I have raised my score by a point to 91.
