Serious Burgundy night: Guessed 2011 Gevrey because of the distinct greenness and shrill acidity. Relative to the competition tonight and for a 2010, this was disappointing. Another meh Bouchard red - just saw the price for this wine, insanity.

A (mostly) Burgundy dinner (Cascina Spinasse, Seattle WA): Nose: The nose is wound a bit tight and comes off as somewhat grumpy. With that said, the tones of raspberries, dark red cherries, cranberries, pomegranate, tobacco, herbs, spice notes, earth tones, and violets are all lovely when they do come out and play a bit.
Taste: The feel is Medium/full bodied with tart, medium+ acidity and youthful, medium+ tannins. The structure is still quite youthful with raspberries, dark red cherries, cranberries, pomegranate, tobacco, licorice, spice tones, and violets.
Overall: This feels like it's still fair young and could use a few more years. What is here is excellent, but it just doesn't want to fully express itself right now.

2010 red burgundy remains undefeated. This was an absolute show stopper, and in a nice spot now- drink now or over the next 15 years.

Med light red. Fragrant, spice, red and black fruuit. Excellent flavours and concentration, long finish. Tannin is firm. 4.6
